The Financial Services Commission of South Korea plans to submit amendments to the Electronic Securities Act and the Capital Market Act regarding the institutionalization of security tokens.

According to South Korean media Hankyung, the South Korean Financial Services Commission plans to submit amendments to the Electronic Securities Act and the Capital Market Act to parliament this month to institutionalize tokenized securities. The proposed legislation is expected to reflect the regulatory framework for the issuance and circulation of tokenized securities announced by the South Korean Financial Services Commission in February, including revisions to the Capital Market Act and the Electronic Securities Act, allowing for the issuance of tokenized securities and the establishment of account management institutions and over-the-counter trading intermediaries related to issuance and circulation.
